We have all heard it.. MUSIC will help your child's brain to GROW! Over the past few decades the market has been flooded with Baby Mozart, Baby Einstein and a slew of gadgets and gizmos that engage children through music. We are happy to see that the world is beginning to recognize the importance of music in early childhood education!
However, recent research has discovered that while LISTENING to classical music and surrounding our baby's enviornment with positive musical vibes has a great effect... There is actually MORE to it than that.
A 2012 study out of McMaster University showed that babies who participated in music classes with their parents in the first year of life “smile more, communicate better and show earlier and more sophisticated brain responses to music.”
Laurel Trainor, the author of the study and the director of the McMaster Institute for Music and the Mind, says that through hands-on music classes, infants are exposed to activities that help develop their motor skills (like crawling and grabbing things), language skills and social skills—all of which stimulate their brains.
The results of music AND movement are super astounding! When the body and brain are linked together to participate in a musically social experience such as in Kindermusik- we see children FLOURISH in their development as little humans. Not only are they connecting with other children and families… but most importantly they are CONNECTING with their caregivers- thru loving touch, singing, dancing and bonding- babies are being given what ancient generations and cultures already had a pulse on- MUSIC AND MOVEMENT in a participatory setting are what truly makes us happy and well rounded human beings… no matter what age we are.
We hope to welcome you to experience what this is like! Wishing you a beautiful musical day!
Warmly,
Ms Nicole
